The ground rules. A real community runs on trust.
Here's what we expect, and what you can expect from us.
Who can use Locus
Locus is available to individuals 18 years of age and older. By creating an account, users confirm that they meet this age requirement. Locus reserves the right to verify age and to remove accounts that do not comply with this requirement.
Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts, including passwords and any activity that occurs through their accounts. Locus is not responsible for losses or damages arising from unauthorized access due to user failure to secure account credentials.
Who we Are
Locus is operated by Locus App Inc., a Delaware C-Corporation. References to "Locus," "we," "us," or "our" throughout these terms refer to Locus App Inc. These terms apply to locus.fyi and the Locus mobile application.
Business accounts and payments
Users who create business accounts represent that they have the authority to represent the business, that the information they provide is accurate, and that events, perks, and commitments made to users through the platform will be fulfilled as described. Business accounts are subject to additional terms provided at onboarding, including platform fees of seven percent (7%) plus one dollar ($1.00) per transaction.
Payments on Locus are processed by Stripe, Inc. through Stripe Connect. Transactions occur between users and businesses, with Locus and Stripe providing payment infrastructure. Locus does not hold or control user funds outside of the payment processing flow.
Refund policies are determined by each business. Users with disputes regarding a purchase should contact the business directly in the first instance. If the issue is not resolved, users may contact hello@locus.fyi for assistance, though Locus is not obligated to issue refunds for purchases processed between users and businesses.
Account Termination
Users may terminate their accounts at any time through the application or by contacting hello@locus.fyi. Upon termination, personal information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
Locus reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. In most cases, Locus will notify the user of the reason for action and provide an opportunity to address the issue. For serious violations, including harassment, illegal activity, or attempts to compromise platform security, Locus may act immediately without prior notice.
Disclaimers and governing law
Locus is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Locus does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet every user expectation. Locus is not responsible for the actions, content, events, or representations of other users or businesses on the platform, or for any interactions that occur off-platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total liability of Locus App Inc. to any user for any claim arising from or related to these terms or the use of Locus is limited to the greater of one hundred dollars ($100.00) or the amount paid by the user to Locus in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms that cannot be resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, or through binding arbitration at Locus's discretion.

Your content and conduct
Users retain ownership of content they create on Locus, including posts, messages, events, reviews, and profile information. By posting content on Locus, users grant Locus a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote that content within the platform and in connection with the service. Users may delete their content at any time, at which point it will be removed from active display within Locus.
Users may not use Locus to harass, threaten, or harm other users; post content that is illegal, violent, sexually explicit, discriminatory, or that infringes on intellectual property or privacy rights; impersonate any person or entity; spam the platform; scrape data from the service; reverse-engineer the software; or attempt to gain unauthorized access to Locus systems or other user accounts.
Locus reserves the right to remove content that violates these terms or applicable laws, and to suspend or terminate accounts engaged in prohibited conduct.
